ApprenticeshipNH and Great Bay Community College: Addressing Workforce Needs and the Community Impact

Join Ross Gittell, chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire, and the ApprenticeshipNH team for an event at Great Bay Community College on Friday, February 23. The 8:30 am panel discussion will focus on Great Bay Community College and its relationship with ApprenticeshipNH. Special attention will be paid to underlining the impact the program has on the businesses that have partnered with ApprenticeshipNH and how the enrolled apprentices are benefitting from the program. ApprenticeshipNH is a unique program that prepares workers as Registered Apprentices in the healthcare, information technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The ApprenticeshipNH program helps prepare apprentices to better compete in the modern workforce.

The total funding of the ApprenticeshipNH initiative is $10.6 million with 99% funded through the following US Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration Grants at the dollar amounts indicated: Apprenticeship State Expansion (ASE) Grant-$1.35 million, State Apprenticeship Expansion 2020 (SAE2020) Grant- $3.45 million, Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) Grant $5.8 million. Additional scholarship support of less than 1% is provided by 3rd party scholarship grants for programs developed through the ASE and SAE grants.
