Connecting Workforce Resources Spring Tour – Lakes Region Community College

The Connecting Workforce Resources Spring Tour is hitting the road this month! Five events are planned across the state on dates and near locations that the NH Department of Employment Services will run job fairs, enabling attendees to attend both events. The fourth stop on the tour takes place at Lakes Region Community College.

Individuals with workforce development responsibilities should join us for “speed networking”, during which they will get an overview of the core workforce resource programs available in New Hampshire, and then go more in depth by meeting with individuals from those programs and organizations.

HR professionals will have the opportunity to connect with:

  • Sector Partnerships Initiative (SPI)
  • ApprenticeshipNH
  • Office of Workforce Opportunity
  • WorkReadyNH
  • Individual College Business Training Centers
  • Department of Employment Security

These events are organized and led by the Sector Partnerships Initiative and ApprenticeshipNH, and focus on matching up employers in core industries with resources to help them grow and attract and retain talent. The tour will focus on five sectors: construction, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and technology.

The total funding of the ApprenticeshipNH initiative is $10.6 million with 99% funded through the following US Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration Grants at the dollar amounts indicated: Apprenticeship State Expansion (ASE) Grant-$1.35 million, State Apprenticeship Expansion 2020 (SAE2020) Grant- $3.45 million, Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) Grant $5.8 million. Additional scholarship support of less than 1% is provided by 3rd party scholarship grants for programs developed through the ASE and SAE grants.
