Employer: Great New Hampshire Restaurants (opportunities available at T-Bones, Cactus Jack’s, Copper Door, CJ’s Great West Grill locations across the state)
Length of Apprenticeship: Approximately three years, including 6,000 hours of on-the-job training plus 574 hours of classroom instruction time at Nashua Community College (NCC) & Great Bay Community College (GBCC). Apprentices will receive college credit for courses successfully completed, and credits can be used towards a degree at the college.
Program start: Rolling admissions; applications accepted & reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Position & Program Overview: Prepares, seasons, and cooks a variety of menu items for consumption. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment. Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked.
Starting Wage: A minimum of $12.00 per hour to start, with guaranteed pay increases over the course of the apprenticeship. At the completion of the program apprentices will make $16.00 per hour.
