What is Pre-Apprenticeship?

Pre-Apprenticeship Programs help individuals build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in a Registered Apprenticeship Program. Designed to close identified skill gaps, pre-apprenticeship combines classroom learning and hands-on experience.

WorkReadyNH is a practical, tuition-free professional skills training program offered through the Community College System of New Hampshire. In an interactive classroom setting, participants strengthen the communication, problem solving and workplace habits that employers value most, while preparing for nationally recognized assessments that demonstrate career readiness.

Examples of topics covered include:

  • Active listening and professional communication
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making
  • Conflict resolution, customer service and workplace expectations

ACT WorkKeys curriculum and assessments build and measure the foundational skills needed for workplace success. Through self-paced online modules aligned with the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate, participants strengthen applied math, reading and information analysis skills that are valued across industries and can carry recognized credentials into job and training opportunities.

  • Applied Math for common workplace calculations
  • Graphic Literacy for reading charts, graphs and diagrams
