Deadline for Grant Applications Extended to June 30, 2023!
Through an Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), ApprenticeshipNH will award funds to expand Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship pathways and opportunities across the state.
This expansion will help fill critical workforce demands and provide opportunities in high-demand industries including construction, education/childcare, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, technology and transportation/logistics.

Program goals
- Improve statewide apprenticeship resources and networks
- Use a new regional hub model that aligns with the geographic locations of community colleges
- Engage 50 to 100 employers
- Enroll 500 to 700 participants in Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs)
- Develop 32 new Pre-Apprenticeship programs
- Expand 60 existing Pre-Apprenticeships
- Promote greater diversity, inclusion, equity, and access (DEIA)
- Commit to increased cultural awareness from employers and greater inclusion of underserved populations

- Supports a coordinated, national investment strategy to strengthen and modernize the USDOL RAP system by promoting RAPs as a proven workforce solution

Over four years, ApprenticeshipNH will be awarding $340,000 annually to support public/private partnerships to expand Pre-Apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs across the state. The RFP will be awarded in three tiers.
Tier 1
$10,000 - $25,000 Award
- Enroll 20 new apprentices
- Enroll 30 new pre-apprentices
Tier 2
$26,000 - $50,000 Award
- Enroll 40 new apprentices
- Enroll 60 new pre-apprentices
Tier 3
$51,000 - $100,000 Award
- Enroll 50 new apprentices
- Enroll 80 new pre-apprentices

To develop four Regional Hubs that act as multidimensional regional operation centers, providing employer incentives and a central repository of resources for RAPs to be designed, scaled, and inclusive of underrepresented populations.
With the addition of the ABA Grant and the reorganization and growth of our team ApprenticeshipNH will be able to develop and expand pre-apprenticeships and Registered Apprenticeship Programs across New Hampshire, provide resources, technical assistance, and support to both employers and their apprentices while increasing the diversity of our state’s workforce.
The ABA Grant provides new opportunities in each of the four years of the grant for employers or industry organizations/partnerships. Proposals can be submitted through a formal RFP process for contract awards up to $100,000 (annually) to expand the infrastructure of Registered Apprenticeship across the New Hampshire.
ApprenticeshipNH can build Pre-Apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship Programs across a spectrum of sectors and occupations, including the state-identified in-demand industries: construction, education/childcare, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, technology and transportation/logistics.
