ApprenticeshipNH Programs Gaining Traction

Representatives from three companies that have been participating in a new program designed to advance the skills of current employees through on-the-job and classroom training are already seeing benefits. On June 15, they discussed their involvement in the ApprenticeshipNH program before an audience of business leaders and reported that the program is having a positive impact on their workforce.

ApprenticeshipNH receives additional $847,770 grant to expand and extend program

Four diverse professionals stand alongside the ApprenticeshipNH logo and the text ApprenticeshipNH is Growing! showcasing opportunities through LEARN NH Apprenticeship.

The extension will help train an additional 200 or more apprentices so they can advance their careers and earnings in New Hampshire, and will bolster efforts to build capacity for apprenticeships at employers across the state. This continuation funding of $847,770 will extend the grant from April 30, 2019, and brings the total investment in the program to over $2 million in federal funds.

Great Bay Community College’s Business & Training Center has recently announced a Fall Home Health Aide course scheduled to take place at the Portsmouth campus beginning in September, as a part of Senior Helpers of the Greater Seacoast’s apprenticeship program.
