About the Program: This program is open to High School students 17 years of age and older. Apprentices will train in and learn all facets of production including glass fabrication, quality control, and coating.
Length of Apprenticeship: The Apprenticeship is 3 years with approximately 6,000 hours of on-the-job learning and 486 hours (6 credit bearing courses) of related instruction through Manchester Community College. College credits can be applied towards a certificate or degree at Manchester Community College.
Position & Program Overview: An Optical Manufacturing Production Assistant will train and learn in all facets of production. Responsibilities will include knowledge and hands on training in glass fabrication, quality control, and expertise in one. The Operations Manufacturing Production Assistant will report to the Production Manager and assist in the day-to-day functioning of the floor.
Starting Wage: $17.00 with scheduled annual increases. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the wage is $21.00.
