Occupation: Community Health Worker: Wellness Coach

Employer: Family Resource Center-Gorham

Length of Apprenticeship: One year/2,000 hours

Program Overview

This unique position supports families, the community, and the agency. Having a close understanding of the public served, the Wellness Coach is trusted by the community in the work they do. This relationship enables the worker to serve as a link between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. The Wellness Coach also builds individual and community capacity by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, community education, social support, and advocacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Age 21 years or older
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Background check, DMV check, Central Registry Check

  • Must be able to lift up to ten (10) pounds
